Scholarship amount

Full tuition and non-refundable fees (ceiling ₹2 lakh a year for private institutions), plus an academic allowance of ₹86,000 in the first year and ₹41,000 in each later year.

Eligibility

SC student admitted to a notified top-class institution; total family income up to ₹8 lakh a year.

Documents required

Aadhaar, bank account seeded with Aadhaar, previous marksheet, income certificate (where an income limit applies), fee receipt / bonafide certificate. Caste certificate.

How to apply

Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal, then fill the application for this scheme. Your institute verifies it online after you submit.

For Scheduled Caste students admitted to notified institutions of excellence (IITs, IIMs, NITs, AIIMS, NLUs and others). 30% of slots are reserved for girls.

Dates are from the scheme list on the National Scholarship Portal for academic year 2026-27. Apply only on scholarships.gov.in (One Time Registration first). From 2026-27 a student may apply for one merit-based scheme and one or more welfare-based schemes.
