- ST student admitted to a notified institution; total family income not more than ₹6 lakh a year.
- Documents required
- Aadhaar, bank account seeded with Aadhaar, previous marksheet, income certificate (where an income limit applies), fee receipt / bonafide certificate. ST certificate.
- How to apply
- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal, then fill the application for this scheme. Your institute verifies it online after you submit.
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs' scholarship (formerly Top Class Education for ST students) covers tuition and living costs for ST students in notified institutions.
Dates are from the scheme list on the National Scholarship Portal for academic year 2026-27. Apply only on scholarships.gov.in (One Time Registration first). From 2026-27 a student may apply for one merit-based scheme and one or more welfare-based schemes.
